[Feature Request] Allow a simple web password for specific sub domains/routes
Benjamin Shepherd
Scenario:
I have a public website e.g. www.mywebsite.com
I have a beta website, not yet production ready e.g. private.mywebsite.com
This would allow us the ability to have our website live in a version that isn't quite production ready, allowing us to share it with other users without needing to set up local dev environments, or requiring any additional dev work on our apps to require a password for access
The easiest way I believe this can be achieved is by utilising passwords defined in the .htaccess file

I would also want this - at a minimum for static sites.
I think static sites are great - they are cheap and easy to be fast etc and I try to aim for them, but at the moment I have to put the dev version of any site on its own server. This is silly - I'm paying more for dev than prod. There should be a simple "password protect my static site" option in the dashboard where DigitalOcean serves the password page for you.
Netlify & Vercel have this. Thanks.
